The consumption of the different sealants results from the following table as per meter performance for particular containers.
 Basis of calculation is a joint with rectangular cross-section. The allowed joint dimension are taken from DIN 18540. The minimum width of expansion or connecting joints outdoors should be 10 mm, the maximum with not more than 35 mm. Up to a width of 12 mm the depth of the sealant should be the same as the width. If the width is more than 15 mm, the depth should be about 2/3 of the width of the joint.
At a triangular cross-section of the sealant a double per meter performance can be supposed.
